Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar are the three finalists for the 2015 Ballon d'Or.

Ronaldo has won the world’s top player award for the last two years after ending Messi’s four-year winning streak.

The winner will be announced in Zurich on Jan. 11.

Messi is the odds-on favourite to win his fifth Ballon d’Or and Ronaldo feels there is no reason to expect an upset.

“To be honest I think Messi is going to win this year because this kind of trophy, it depends on votes,” said Ronaldo.

Toronto FC's Sebastian Giovinco, the Columbus Crew's Kei Kamara and Sporting Kansas City's Benny Feilhaber are finalists for the MLS Most Valuable Player award.

The finalists for the rookie award are San Jose's Fatai Alashe, Orlando's Cyle Larin and Chicago's Matt Polster.
